X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

Evan Peters as Quicksilver
Evan Peters as Quicksilver

I read some time ago a paper (or was it a presentation) stating that there are a dozen of stories, that are changed and adapted, generating all the movies we have seen since the story of the world. I am not that drastic, but it seems that at least there was some kind of information sharing between the writers of this movie and the writers of Star Trek, into the Darkness. Why? Same base… somehow it seemed that the current status of the X-men World story wasn’t flexible enough, so lets get back into time, and change the story, so that now we can rewrite it, making some characters that were dead alive again. For Star Trek it was similar, the actors were idolized, or almost, and therefore, they got back in time to somehow introduce the new actors.

Not that I am against the idea. If you read an older post about the Star Trek movie I really gave my congratulations to the writers for that idea. Now I am not sure if I should congratulate again, as it seems the idea is not new.

Anyway, the movie is good. The story acceptable. Lots of action, fun, and a lot of different mutants around (I like when there are a lot of them, not just one or two). But what I liked the most? The scene I captured above, with Quicksilver. Not just I like the character, but Evan Peters is great. Please, please, please, make him come back in future movies.

X2 (2003)

Nice nails work!

For some time that IMDB is suggesting me to watch this movie, and I wasn’t sure if I’ve had watched it. Nevertheless, after watching it, I continue not being able to be sure. But I think I did not.

The thing I like on this movie is that we have a lot of mutants, with a lot of different powers. Wolverine movie is mostly him. I like to see what the invent. Like, for example, the nails above. Cute.

Other than that, the story is standard, with interesting jokes. Liked it enough to vote 8 in 10 at IMDB. To conclude, I can only say that Iceman is a chicken. Couldn’t him control all that water? It would be easy…

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

X-Men Origins - WolverineAnother Marvel-based movie, with known super-hero. This leads to be watching the movie knowing that the main character will survive. But then, that is the usual thing with Hollywood movies (in this one there is something different, but not that different…). So, no big news.

Now, back to the movie: I am not an X-Men fan. I mean, I am not a X-Men reader, but I am a usual X-Men movie watcher. I like action, special effects, I think mutant idea is cool, I know some main characters. That is enough to enjoy the movie.

It starts in a great way. While credits are shown a lot of history is transmitted to the watcher making it easier to follow the movie. Then, the movie is not just action. It has some love and it has a good amount of jokes. That is cool.

I really enjoy the movie. Voted 9 in 10 on IMDB.
