Very difficult to comment on this season. First, because I am seeing it for a long time, second because the series changed completely from the first season to the second, and now to the third. And the one that I liked the more (even if with more gore) was the first one. Things got strange. The story complicated. And although from the start, the way the director recorded the movie was already weird, it got weirder with the time. And sometimes getting it really difficult to understand what was real, and what wasn’t. Probably the idea was to the watcher to think, and relate, and analyse himself. But being a non native English speaker, I probably missed details, and some of those long conversations got lost.
Anyway, and spoiler alert, I think the last episode to be exaggerated. I do not think event Captain America or the like would get so many stabs, and continue walking around. Not very realistic. And yes, the last scene is expected. Completely.
And they talk about Game of Thrones, and all dead… oops, sorry. Spoilers ahead, in the next paragraph. So, if you never saw Hannibal, think on it. I know it is sometimes a problem for digestion. But it is worth it.
My main complain is that sometimes it gets hard to follow. Sometimes explanations are given (like Freddie Lounds death), but some other are missing, like Abigail’s death. Nevertheless, everybody dies at the end? I imagine not, of course, as season 3 is out there. But yeah, this series is quite good.
No, if you have a weak stomach, please do not watch this series after eating. It is not just the fact of people getting dead, but the way there are killed, the quality and reality of the scene preparation, and sometimes the little details of pain and horror. If not for the fact of some of the victims get… eaten.
Also, do not watch it if you think the good guys should win, and the bad guys should be dead or in jail. No, it is not this way with this series. It is a story of an assassin, and if you kill or arrest the assassin, you no longer have the main character. So, he must escape. And it will make you feel uncomfortable knowing that.
From time to time the series is kind of boring, with too much talk and psychoanalysis. But that is the way it works. Do not expect a standard police story, with guns and violence. Here you get to the scene too late, watching them dead (if not vegetating), and rarely catching the killer. Yeah, you guess well why.
Weird, very weird. First, I should note that although I hear a lot about Hannibal Lecter, I never read or saw any story on him, and therefore, I was kind of lost. After a quick visit to wikipedia things got clearer. This probably shows that the first episode is not that good as it might be, as people new to the Lecter story might end watching the episode, and be kind of lost.
Nevertheless, I am interested to see next episodes, even with the “viewer discretion advised” message.
