It looks like that lately I am watching the movies that inspired Grand Theft Auto. Yesterday it was Gone in Sixty Seconds, with car boosting, racing the police, et al. Today, Drop Zone, with parachute diving, namely into a moving truck. Nothing I didn’t do before… in GTA.
Well, regarding the movie, it is yet another typical argument. But enjoyable. Action with humour and a girl. What else a guy wants? Ah, some more action, and some more jokes. Good for a last day of the year evening.
Yet another movie I just watched because nothing was running better on TV. I never heard of it, even having Cameron Diaz or Justin Timberlake in the cast. Anyway, it is a fun movie. A little crazy (think American Pie, but not that bold).
Nice to watch in a afternoon when you do not want to work and you have nothing better to do. It uses the common Hollywood-like story, so easy to predict the next scenes. But still good to surprise with a good joke from time to time.
Voted 7 in 10 at IMDB for some good passed time, some Lucy Punch cute scenes, and a nice pair of boobs (check above).
Well, usually the movies during Christmas are all comedies, franchising, and boring stuff. Well, I found out The Italian Job in the TV, and as it was in my list of movies to watch, I took the chance. And you know me. Given I like Jason Statham movies, and I like cute girls, like Chalize Theron, it was easy to like the movie.
Now, the movie is fun, has action, and cars and speed. If I needed to summarize, I would say The Italian Job is a mixture of Need for Speed or Fast and Furious and Ocean’s Eleven. 8 in 10.
For some time that I did not watch a movie. And this is something I am ashamed of, but when I downloaded Red Sparrow I was expecting a Marvel movie. Sorry, I am no big fan of the comic books, and some of the character names are unknown for me. Well, guess what, no, it wasn’t. And I am not sure what this movie is. If a drama, if action, horror or just some kind of erotic movie. Anyway, it mostly fails on all of them. For drama, it doesn’t make anybody in tears, even with all the violence. For action, it lacks real action. For horror, it has too many boring parts. For erotic, it has too much violence.
It is not a bad movie. You can watch it without getting bored, even if some scenes are slow and lacking interest. But for other scenes, you want turn around and ask, is the violence over yet?
Well, this is probably the only Series made in Portugal I really follow. Well, the argument, at least for the first season, was adapted from another show. But I think the second season is mostly original from Portugal. It is a comedy show, of about 30 minutes per episode, of a team of cookers and restaurant staff, and their lives. It is fun, it shows food, have some nice girls, so, why not?
One the main things I noticed in the second season is that the first half episodes were recorded without two of the main actors. Although one came back, the other was completely replaced and, if at first, felt weird, the story was good enough to back the substitution. Talking about that, the substitute is Marco Horácio, someone I knew only from singing a comic version of the Portuguese Fado. His acting is not bad. Really.
Will continue following it, if a new season comes back. And specially if Benedita Pereira continues in the show. She resembles a friend…
Yep, this is the second time I blog about a Portuguese series. It started right in the same week as “Ministério do Tempo”, but it is a comedy. It follows the 20 minutes of other well known series like Allo Allo! or The Big Bang Theory, and with non-sense ranging from the minimum to crazy. What I like in it? Well, the idea (stories in the Kitchen of a well known restaurant), the fun, and of course, Benedita Pereira. So, it is another series I will keep my eye on. Stay tuned.
Watching a movie catalogued as a great one is always a big problem. Either you share the ideas of the people who liked the movie, or you will hate it. And just like people loved “Lost in Translation” and I hated it, I did not like as well this one. I see it very alike to “Lost in Translation”, where a cute girl explains why I watched until the end. With the bonus of having Maria Schneider nude. But still, couldn’t give more than 2 in 10 at IMDB.
And the Castle series just ended. I will miss it. Quite fun, with interesting stories. Some of them with some holes, but most of them were good. The main characters were fun, and well constructed. And, of course, I will miss those Alexis eyes.
Regarding this season, I must say the episodes were quite good, and the last episodes shown that good stories could still be made, keeping the “umbrella story” in a halt. The last episode was a great season finale. But no, not a good Series finale. They say that they did not have much time. But it was bad. Quite bad. Of course we can imagine a course, but that is not our job, but the directors job. Finally, even the “umbrella story” got missing details. OK, the “LokSat” was found, but his story was not told. What were his motives? All that conspiracy should have a good reason. Shame…
Although I finished this season some weeks ago, I did not notice there were no more episodes. The fact of every episode having a different story, with minimal umbrella story (the one that glues episodes together), and the lack of a season finale are the reasons for missing it.
In any case, Modern Family continues as good as it was. I still think that Alex Dumphy deserves an episode meeting Sheldon at Caltech (even being two different producers, why not?) and I think Manny, like above, is deserving a chance with a girl. Not necessarily a hot blonde, but I feel for him. Probably because I think I deserve this chance too…
